Congratulations Kevin and Osilvis, Again!!!
After having won the $50,000 Grand Prix of California at the Showpark Ranch & Coast Show in May, Kevin and Osilvis once again pleased the crowds winning the $10,000 Hood River Inn Grand Prix in June!
Maplewood Stables, Inc. is a complete horse training, stable and sale business. Established in 1977, we are dedicated to showing champion hunters, jumpers, and hunt seat equitation at all levels throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. Our stallion Cartouche Z won the $10,000 Hood River Inn Grand Prix for the second year in a row last year. He was the Circuit Overall Champion Level 7 Jumpers and Mid-Circuit Reserve Champion at Indio 2005, ridden by our own Julie Winkel. Julie and our other stallion Osilvis jumped clean in the $30,000 Antares Grand Prix at the Palms Classic 2005. Both of these champion stallions are available to a select number of mares each year.
  Julie Winkel, the owner of Maplewood Stables, Inc., is a champion rider herself and is frequently asked to judge prestigious shows such as the USEF Medal Finals and World Cup Finals. Maplewood offers Julie's expertise in training champion hunters, jumpers and equestrians.
We offer a complete training program year-round, for beginning through advanced horsemanship. Our advanced riders show extensively on the "A" circuit throughout California, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, and Canada, as well as the the East Coast finals.
Our facilities are well-known for their high quality with indoor and outdoor arenas, a Grand Prix field, newly-renovated clubhouse, 24-hour security, and 150 acres of gorgeous parkland and trails for leisure riding. Please be sure to visit our Facilities page for more details and photographs.

Cartouche Z
Maplewood Stables is proud to announce our stallion, Cartouche Z, is available for breeding this season. "Ace" is our 8 year old Grey Zangersheide, and had a champion record from the Indio Desert Circuit 2005, and an incredible show record 2004-2006.

Osilvis
Osilvis, by Silvio II out of Iregina (by Nimmerdor), is also available to a select number of mares this season. Osilvis has a great show record as well, winning the $50,000 Grand Prix of California at Showpark and the $10,000 Grand Prix in Hood River. Not only is he unbeleivably beautiful and exceptionally talented, but he is a lamb to work with.

Welcome, Katie!
Welcome to the new full time trainer/ instructor Katie Hauss! Katie recently graduated from Syracuse University. She comes to Maplewood with lots of experience as a junior riding in the hunters and equitation. Be sure to take a wonderful lesson from her.
Maplewood at Hood River.
Everyone had a wonderful time everyone in Hood River. Of course it was especially exciting to see Osilvis win after being 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in that order, the previous years! And to have his four year old sons make their debut (Ghost even won a class!) was the icing on the cake!! Cincenatty & Tara Bowlby didn't let us down, either, winning the Hunter Derby, as well as having the high score of the day two out of three days they showed! View full results and photos here.
Spruce Meadows.
Spruce Meadows was fantastic - truly the greatest show on earth!! We started off with Kevin and Ace winning the 1.4m speed class out of 75 entries! They won by three seconds!! They received a cooler along with the money and their name on the Trimac perpetual trophy. We had lots of winners, and we enjoyed visitors and vacationing as well. Hauling.
Due to increasing fuel prices, hauling fees are now $1/mile effective immediately (minimum $200 plus $100 loading fee).
Summer Camp Happening Now!
Each summer Maplewood Stables offers one of the top horse camps in the region. 2008 brings new and exiting changes to our summer camp program. We will be offering 4 weeks of day camp, each week with a different focus. We will be offering two weeks of English Riding, one of Western Riding and Trail Rides, and one for Novice Jumping. Camps are limited and are already filling up, so register asap! More
Summer Family Trail Rides.
Plan a 1/2 day or day trip up in the Sierras, in Galena through the pines, or a day of riding in the sand and water at Washoe Lake... All level of riders welcome. Want more?
